Affirmations By Kurt Hurley
It is very amusing to me upon meeting new prospective clients or people in
general at social events, when topics such as the power of transformation, self
improvement or just plain positive mind-setting enter into the conversation, how
few people actually fully understand what an affirmation is. I did not know that
affirmations were not commonly known, so with that being said…
Quite simply, an affirmation is a positive thought or statement in which you
repeat to yourself and implant in your inner consciousness as a source of
inspiration for your present and future actions. Once entrenched in your
subconscious mind, it guides your thoughts and actions in a cherished direction.
You can use the power of affirmations to overcome certain undesirable traits and
negative and habitual thought patterns in your mind or deal with some weakness
in your personality affirmatively.
Why Use Affirmations?
Using positive affirmations, you can inculcate (drill into) your mind and body
how to operate in an absolutely definite way. You can overcome the obstructions
that stand in between you and the true person you are destined to be. You can
send subtle thought forces into your consciousness and powerfully alter your
thinking and behavior. Using positive affirmations, you can heal yourself and
‘build’ a new self in astonishing ways. You can stay motivated and focused on
your path to success. You can truly transform your personality and make yourself
more acceptable and at peace with yourself. You can overcome many problems in
your life, problems that exist because of some inherent deficiency or debility
with your attitude, behavior or thinking processes.
Positive affirmations may not get you every thing you want in your life, very
few of us get everything we want, but they can help you establish an environment
in which you have greater opportunities to shape your life and modify the course
of your actions. They can help you overcome the feelings of frustration and
vulnerability and make you feel confident, self reliant and responsible for your
actions and thoughts. You can face the challenges of your life more confidently
and with the conviction that you're not a mere puppet in the hands of some
unknown providential destiny. You can virtually do anything that's humanly
possible and within the field of your reality. You can substantially change the
way you think and act and relate to yourself, with others and the world around
you. Following are some suggestions on how to make your affirmations work for
you and bring happiness, health, success and prosperity to your daily life.
1. Make your affirmations appropriate and specific to the issue, quandary or
crisis at hand. Use words that are specific to the end result (fat-loss).
2. Begin your day with positive affirmations. Remember, recite and contemplate
them before you go to bed, in the morning, throughout the day - just use them on
as many instances as you can and definitely when you need them most - when there
is a need to reinforce a desired behavior or state of mind or counter a problem
or situation you are facing (fat-loss).
3. Use them frequently and consistently. Firmly plant your affirmations (deeply
root them in you brain) so they become integrated with your consciousness and
develop into part of your natural response to the intended issues. To achieve
this, associate your affirmations consciously and persistently with the problem
you want to resolve (fat-loss). Balance your negative thoughts and fears with
positive affirmations so that your resolve to succeed is not dissipated.
4. Store your list of affirmations accessible. Whatever they are comprised of,
(fat-loss) write them down on a paper, on your computer or in a journal and keep
them readily available.
5. Make your affirmations straight and simple. Employ action words that invoke
positive imagery and appeal to your mind and senses directly (fat-loss). Use
tangible words that touch your senses, avoid vague and abstract words.
6. Use positive words only. Avoid negative expressions. Say, "I will achieve
this state of mind, body or reality," (fat-loss) or “I am or I have”, instead of
"I don't want to be like this or that or I don't want to do this or that."
7. Your affirmations must be personal and in first person. Feel the need for
them strongly (fat-loss). Experience the sense of responsibility as you think of
them.
8. Merge strong, powerful, potent and positive emotions with your affirmations.
Feel the elation of achievement (fat-loss) and success as you repeat them to
yourself.
9. Use affirmations that are reminiscent you, of your goals, objectives and the
specific desired end result (fat-loss). 10. Operate as if your affirmations are
already working and yielding positive results. Express your gratitude to the
people and forces at work to ensure that your affirmations come true (fat-loss).
11. Attach the omniscient, positive energy of God or your Higher Self to your
affirmations. Request the intervention of God to make your affirmations come
true (fat-loss). Articulate gratitude each and every moment for the help you are
receiving.
12. Affix the power of visualization to the strength and potency of your
affirmations. Visualize how your affirmations can and will change your life,
(fat-loss) your physique and your personality.
Give this application of affirmations serious consideration, put them into
practice and they will work for you, I promise… They do for me.
Good luck and God Bless!

Still Not Quite
Getting It Right “A man cannot be
comfortable without his own approval.” (Mark Twain) “A man should
not strive to eliminate his complexes, but to get into accord with them, for
they are legitimately what directs his conduct in the world.” (Sigmund Freud)
As is our confidence, so is our capacity.” (William Hazlitt) “Be yourself
and think for yourself; and while your conclusions may not be infallible, they
will be nearer right than the conclusions forced upon you.” (Elbert Hubbard)
You are all you really have for sure.
It's the Thought that Counts
EVERYTHING begins with a thought, including EVERYTHING that is in
your life today (whether you like it or don't). You have the ability to
outsmart your brain and cause a change in the things, people and circumstances
that show up around you.
Mind Technique's
This technique I'm going to explain in this article may be considered
pretty radical by some. But before you decide or make a judgment that I could be
simple or simply out of My Own Mind, please stay with me for a moment.
Sport Psychology has become extremely important in the sporting world. But don't
be misled into thinking that this is only something that's of interest to sports
men and women. There are many aspects to sport psychology, and I believe some
can assist even the humble online entrepreneur to achieve massive success. The
most useful I've found is the idea of 'visualization'.
Your Emotions:
Are You Watching Them? You’ll often hear don Miguel Ruiz, author of “The
Four Agreements,” saying that our emotions are the key to our personal freedom.
Wise words! You might be asking why our emotions are so important to our
freedom. I’ve observed in my many years of teaching, how often folks don’t
acknowledge what they’re feeling emotionally. When I ask them how they’re
feeling they say, “Things are fine,” or “The usual.” Yet, when you ask them if
they got upset or frustrated today, they’ll say, “Well yes, this morning with my
husband,” or “When the dishwasher repair man came to the house,” or “When
something was not typed correctly my secretary.” So what’s going on here? Why
are we ignoring the most important tool that we have for our personal growth?
Your Personal
Concentration Strategy Concentration is the utmost
important tool in order to make the greatest success of anything you desire. You
need to be able to concentrate your entire focus onto the idea you are
developing in order to make it a full success. A successful person is able to
fully concentrate on what does work for him and shut out any de-motivating or
destructive thoughts.
